Common treatable conditions
FES is commonly used for the correction of dropped foot, but is for anyone who has lost movement in lower or upper limb due to nerve injury in the spinal cord or brain. This includes:
- Stroke
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Spinal cord injury above T12
- Cerebral Palsy
- Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia
- Head injury
- Parkinson’s disease
- Or any other neurological condition or injury that affects the brain or spinal cord above T12
FES may also be used to strengthen muscles weakened due to orthopaedic or other medical problems.
