How can I get involved with FES?
Satellite Clinics – Oxford, Kent, Norwich and Luton areas
OML is seeking to engage specialist neurological physiotherapists to help deliver expanded FES treatment at our satellite clinics in the Oxford, Kent, Norwich and Luton areas.
Experience treating patients with a range of neurological conditions is essential, preferably within an outpatient setting. Knowledge of FES would be advantageous but is not essential, as training will be provided.
Work as a practitioner who can set out their own working times provided with a clinical caseload and administrative support from OML.
More information about this Satellite Clinician opportunity can be found here
FES Training courses
FES treatment can be used along side other common treatment practices eg physiotherapy. OML is always looking for more FES partners. We provide training and support on how to set up and use FES devices.
If you are clinician (physiotherapist, OT, doctor, orthotist etc.) and want to use FES with your patients, you must first receive training in FES.
OML run a series of FES courses for its devices. For information, please view our courses page.
Refer a patient for FES treatment
Referrals can be made by a GP or medical consultant to Prof Paul Taylor at OML. Patients can be seen in Salisbury at the National Clinical FES Centre, or at one of our many Outreach Clinics.
